General counselling is about recognising that each person’s experience is unique and exploring with you how to best move forward, in a collaborative and interactive relationship. If you notice your thoughts and feelings have become distressing or have begun to feel overwhelming, counselling is a safe space to express feelings and explore them fully.

General counselling offers a safe place for you to express your feelings.

General Counselling Sydney

One of the first things new clients typically say is, “I don’t even know where to start.” This is completely understandable, as it can be difficult to verbalise your thoughts, let alone take the first steps towards talking to someone. Together we can prioritise where to start.  Don’t let uncertainty stop you from seeking support.

If you feel as if you ‘can’t quite put your finger on it’, or that you have an unsettling feeling that something isn’t quite right, I can guide and support you. In the same way, if there are issues in your life that have become unmanageable, are causing stress, worry, and confusion, I am here to assist you. While talking to family and friends can be a relief, general counselling can provide you with practical direction and support to meet life’s challenges.

Whether you are experiencing depression, stress, grief, loss, workplace fatigue, lack of confidence, low self-esteem, excessive anger which is negatively affecting your life, or life transitions, general counselling offers a safe place for you to express your feelings and assist you to move forward in positive and constructive ways.

General counselling can help you with:

  • Developing coping mechanisms
  • Relieving the burden of carrying the weight on your own shoulders
  • Creating change in your personal life and relationships

You don’t have to walk through challenging times alone, get in contact to discuss how we can work together.

Online and/or Telephone Counselling Sydney

Have you thought about counselling but don’t feel ready? Do you worry you don’t have enough time? Or, are you nervous about talking to someone face-to-face? Online counselling may suit you.

Online counselling is a relatively new and exciting development. It means you can receive support via email, telephone, video conferencing such as Zoom, or online chat. You receive the same care and compassion extended to you as if we were in the same room together, with complete flexibility to suit your needs (I am unable to see clients from US or Canada due to insurance restrictions).

As the pressures of work, study, family and social life become more intense, more people are opting for online counselling to help cope with pressures in a way that suits them. For time-poor clients, or people with mobility issues, online counselling can be very beneficial. This convenient forum allows you to receive valuable guidance regarding challenges in work, relationships, and life, wherever you are.

Feel free to connect with me to find out more information or to schedule an appointment.

You must not give up in the middle of the journey. May you have grace to travel onward.” – Lailah Gifty Akita
